If you want to use libraries instead of learning to play guitar, one or more Shreddage 3 libraries are probably the way to go if you want to stay flexible.

Imho it would be rolling the dice when you buy a full collection outright on whether or not that was the purchase that you needed to make or not.Īsk yourself this, if you were to learn to play a real guitar, how many would you buy to get you started? I hope the answer is one, because it'll take some time to learn what you're actually looking for in a guitar. The benefit you get from having different guitar libraries that all follow the same sampling approach is rather small compared to other benefits you could buy for the same money *), and at your current point on your journey you very likely don't know what you really need for the sound that you want. If you like low-tuned stuff, I'd go for whichever of their libraries has the lowest sampled notes. If you like S3 stratus free, I'd buy one of their full guitar libraries and learn to use it properly and learn to dial in amp sims to get closer to the sounds you want.

If you don't have a full version of Kontakt, I'd probably buy that first before you go for a whole virtual guitar collection.
